St. Andrew the Apostle
a Word from Our Pastor

Dear family and friends of St. Andrew and all those who seek God!
St. Andrew the Apostle, so many centuries ago, invited his brother to meet Jesus with these words, although spoken in Aramaic: “We have found the Messiah!” (Gospel of John 1,41). Then he brought his brother, Simon, to Jesus, who gave Simon his new name, Peter.
Messiah is a Hebrew word which translated means “the Christ” or “the Anointed One.” How long had the Hebrew people been awaiting their Messiah?! For thousands of years!
And finally, the long-awaited and hoped-for Messiah came. What amazing joy and wonder! It is no exaggeration to say that this same Messiah is here! He is right here at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church! “WE HAVE FOUND THE MESSIAH!”
As a Catholic family, we come together to celebrate the presence of the Messiah in our midst, for instance, in English, Polish, and Spanish at our weekend Masses.
What St. Andrew did so long ago – invitation, translation, celebration, and joy in finding the Messiah and bringing others to Him – still continues today. As our Mission Statement proclaims, “We are a willingly diverse people sharing a common call to live a challenging, evangelical faith in the world. To be about this mission as stewards of God's grace we build ministries spanning our life cycle which support common life, prayer, learning and outreach in service among individuals, families, small communities, our entire parish community, and the wider world.”
Welcome to a place in this world where Jesus is found and loved!
In Jesus Christ, our loving Lord,
Fr. Gregor Gorsic
Pastor
